Point Bonita Lighthouse is the first and only lighthouse in the United States that can only be reached by crossing a suspension bridge. Naturally, the bridge is inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge, which stands not many miles south.
The lighthouse here is the bright light on the left. It is Point Bonita Lighthouse. The next post will provide a slightly closer look.

The buildings on the top of the rock are the light station. There is a gift shop, a barn, and a light keeper’s house there. All are currently in the process of being renovated. The actual lighthouse is that tiny, sharp bump on the slope on the right.
