There has been a lighthouse at this location since 1797, making this Cape Cod’s oldest lighthouse. In 1996, it was moved 100 feet inland to protect it from the eroding cliffs, which eat away into the land at about 2 feet per year.
Annisquam Harbor Lighthouse is a classic New England Lighthouse. Fun fact: The US government bought the land for this lighthouse on October 26, 1800 for $140.
